How Does the Smart Dual Light Work?

The Smart Dual-Light function is an advanced night vision technology used in

 modern IP PoE cameras.

You can choose three night vision modes on the IP Camera:

• Infrared (IR) Mode: longer-rang night vision, but the video is strictly 

black-and-white.

• Full-Color Mode: Uses visible white LED spotlights to get 24/7 color video, 

but the bright lights stay on all night, which can cause light pollution and 

annoy neighbors.

• Smart Dual-Light mode: It keeps the camera in black-and-white IR mode 

by default, but instantly flashes into full-color mode the exact moment 

a target appears.

Applicaton Scenarios

Smart Dual-Light is highly effective in scenarios where you want a balance of 

covert monitoring and proactive deterrence:

• Residential Driveways & Front Porches: Keeps the house dark and peaceful 

at night, but lights up safely for family members returning home late—or deters 

porch pirates.

• Commercial Warehouses & Alleys: Acts as an automated security guard. Any intruder 

walking into a dark alleyway will instantly trigger a spotlight, exposing their facial 

features to the camera.

• Isolated Parking Lots: Provides safety illumination for authorized users walking 

to their cars while ensuring any vehicle movement is captured in full color.
